Felicia was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. At the age of 19, she joined the Marine Corps and served during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. After returning to Buffalo, she attended Erie Community College (ECC), earning an associate degree in Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling. She later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Buffalo State. While pursuing her education, Felicia worked in the human services field, dedicating over 20 years to supporting individuals affected by HIV, domestic violence, mental health issues, substance use, veterans, youth, and formerly incarcerated individuals.
Felicia has been involved in serving the homeless population for the past 15 years, particularly through Code Blue emergency sheltering during the winter months. In 2023, she launched her own LLC and nonprofit organization aimed at providing resources, shelter, and stable housing to those in need. Felicia remains deeply committed to serving her community, continuing the legacy of her late grandmother, Sylvia Rodriguez, who was also a prominent community advocate. Through her nonprofit, Sylvia’s House Inc., Felicia plans to establish a shelter offering transitional and permanent housing for vulnerable populations.
In addition to her work, Felicia has served on various boards within the Hispanic community and is currently a member of the Pucho Olivencia Center and Gabriel Rodriguez Veterans Post 1928. Her dedication to helping those in need continues to inspire and drive positive change within the community.
